The bus lurched forward. Sheldon watched Medford’s strip malls blur into dusty farmland. “The ignition relay is corroded,” he announced, climbing onto a bench. “There’s a backup in the port-side junction box. If someone with steady hands bypasses the safety cutoff, we can restart the boiler at 40% pressure. Enough to limp to the dock.”
