What is XAudio 2.7? XAudio 2.7 is a low-level, cross-platform audio API (Application Programming Interface) developed by Microsoft as part of the DirectX family. It provides a signal processing and audio mixing foundation for games and high-performance applications. Unlike later versions (2.8/2.9) that are tied to specific Windows versions (Windows 8/10/11), version 2.7 was the last release fully compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
