Years later, Mohan falls in love with Geetha. Upon bringing her to Vasantha Maligai, strange events begin to occur – eerie music plays at midnight, a mysterious female figure is glimpsed in the corridors, and a pair of anklets (salangai) are heard jingling. However, with the help of a clever private detective (Prasad) and Geetha’s persistence, the truth emerges: Viji had faked his own death and has been hiding in a secret chamber within the mansion. Disguised as a ghost, he has been orchestrating the events to frame Mohan and inherit the entire property. The climax reveals Viji alive, leading to a confrontation where he is finally killed, and Mohan is exonerated.
