Elara’s world was a letter. Not a metaphor—a literal, living letter. She lived in the lower-right serif of a colossal ‘M’, carved into the chalk-white cliffs of the Punctum Coast. Her people, the Glyphians, were tiny, sentient beings who maintained the vast, crumbling manuscript of the Known Story. Every dawn, they polished the curves of ‘O’s, scraped lichen from the crossbars of ‘T’s, and reinforced the thin stems of ‘H’s against the erosive wind. One evening, the wind carried a rumor: the
