It is a Qasidah (classical Arabic poem) that praises the Prophet Muhammad with intense love, reverence, and acknowledgment of his intercessory power. Unlike dry theological texts, this Salawat uses metaphor, repetition, and emotional crescendo to transport the reader into a state of hubb (love) and khushu (humility). Unlike the famous Dala'il al-Khayrat by Imam al-Jazuli or Hizb al-Bahr by Imam al-Shadhili, the specific composer of "Salamullah Ya Sadah" is debated. Many manuscript traditions attribute it to Imam Abdallah ibn Alawi al-Haddad (d. 1720), the reviver of the 12th Islamic century and a giant of Islamic spirituality. Others attribute similar phrasing to Imam al-Busiri (author of Al-Burda ), though Al-Burda has a different meter. salamullah ya sadah pdf
