Under Display adapters , she saw two entries: Intel UHD Graphics and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 . The NVIDIA one had a yellow triangle.

She swapped in her backup wired mouse. Same issue. Then she unplugged everything, held down the power button to drain residual charge, and prayed to the tech gods. When the machine came back up, the cursor still twitched like a nervous insect.
