Batman moved. Not at Hood—past him. A Batarang sliced the rope holding a suspended pallet of explosives, dropping it into a closed dumpster just as a spark from a gangster’s cigarette would have caught it.

“You killed four people last week,” Batman said.

The Red Hood stood ten feet away, helmet gleaming wetly under the neon bleed from a pawnshop sign. His stance was relaxed, almost friendly. That made him more dangerous.
