The access denied message flickered and vanished. The D: drive opened with a soft whoosh, revealing all his precious files.
Just when John thought he'd exhausted all options, a sudden spark of inspiration struck. He recalled a dusty old USB drive he'd used years ago, one that had been formatted with an obscure file system. Could it be that his computer had somehow become confused about the permissions on the drive?
